Profile
A blessed athlete with multiple skills, Maurice Turnbull was an English batsman who played during the start of the 20th century. Apart from his cricketing abilities, he was also a sound performer in rugby and hockey. However, Turnbull's primary skill was always cricket and he was a highly entertaining batsman when on song. Unlike those who loved to get their eye in before going on the attack, Turnbull went on the rampage from the outset if the opportunity presented itself. Predominantly a leg-side player, he altered his gameplay with age and gradually became an all-zone batsman who could find runs at every nook and corner of the park. After his playing days, Turnbull served as an efficient administrator of the game, even being a selector at one point. His youthful life was cut short when he got killed during the Second World War.
