PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Jos Buttler

Jos the Boss! A special and a flawless knock from the Englishman in the Ahmedabad heat takes GT to the top of points table. The top three - Gujarat, Delhi and Punjab - are tied on points and are only separated by NRR. On that note, it's curtains down on this encounter. There's one more match today - which has already started - in the neighbouring state. Switch tabs to follow RR vs LSG!

Jos Buttler | Player of the Match: Really pleased with the two points. It was a beautiful wicket to bat on, just wanted to try and take it deep, pick our moments to attack. We've built some nice partnerships along the way. It's hot, surprised how much fluid you need, how draining it is. Cramping up and stuff. Part of the game, you got to be fit and perform under pressure and heat. (On his diving catch) I have kept poorly in the first six games, I was determined to try and keep better. Always nice when you manage to hang on to one like that. I have enjoyed batting with him (Rutherford). He hits sixes out of nowhere. His sixes off Mohit changed the game and the momentum. You want to win the game, I had my chances before that, two points is the most important thing. I told Rahul not to worry about my score, we got to win. Credit to him, he's done that over the last few years where he can find the fence from ball one.

Shubman Gill: At one point, it looked like the total was going to be 220-230. The way we pulled back, credit to the bowlers. Even in the first game, chasing around 245, we were right in the game, lost by just 10 runs. We've been chasing well, we've been defending well. They were ahead in the game, with Axar batting, it was difficult to hit the fast bowlers, so we thought we'll continue with them. Disappointing way to get out (run-out), but we've got plenty of games here and hopefully will get my chance. Magnificent the way Butter and Rutherford rotated strike and those hits were tremendous. It was not just brutal hitting, it was very calculated batting, it was a treat to watch. Very happy to get this win.

Sai Sudharsan: The wicket was fantastic to bat, had a great outing. The wicket was too good to bat in the first 6 overs. From the bat also the speed was really good, was coming on to the bat nicely as well. If it's a good ball, it's good to time the ball. Have to time the ball in the best possible way and to perfection. It goes on during the preparation. I try to react to my best. It's really fantastic to watch Buttler play, learning a lot from him. Getting two points every game, that's more important.

Axar Patel: We were 10-15 runs short. When we tried to accelerate, we kept losing wickets. We couldn't finish the way we wanted. We did bowl decently. Had we managed to create few more chances, things could have been closer. It was a matter of couple of hits. We won't think much about this loss.

19:41 Local Time, 14:11 GMT, 19:41 IST: Mitchell Starc - hero in the previous match, concedes 49 runs without picking a wicket in 3.2 overs today. That's how unpredictable this game is. A clinical chase from Gujarat Titans who are back to winning ways. On a good batting deck, the hosts managed to pull things back somewhat to restrict their opponents to 203. In reply, GT lost Gill early via a run-out. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler counterattacked and ensured that their team were ahead of the chase at the end of the powerplay. Sudharsan - the leading run-getter of this IPL - holed out against Kuldeep. That's when Rutherford joined Buttler. The former took his time to his get eye in, but once he was set, both the batters hit a flurry of boundaries. Buttler played a blinder! Was on the field as a keeper for 20 overs, walked in to bat in the 2nd over and remained unbeaten to take his team home. The highlight of the chase was Buttler going after Starc - hitting five boundaries in a row. Mukesh's penultimate over made things interesting but Tewatia did Tewatia things in the final over as GT won with four balls to spare.

19.2

Mitchell Starc to Rahul Tewatia, FOUR, Tewatia finishes it in a couple of balls. Buttler runs to hug him and he has a big smile on his face. It's a yorker from Starc, tails in a bit as well, Tewatia stays leg-side to flick and squirts an inside edge that goes between his legs before running away to fine leg for four. GT win by 7 wickets!

19.1

Mitchell Starc to Rahul Tewatia, SIX, wow! This is what Tewatia has done on plenty of occasion. Full and in the slot, Tewatia crouches and wallops it over deep midwicket. Right off the meat of the bat, Superb bat swing

Brilliant 19th over from Mukesh - just 5 runs and Rutherford's wicket. GT need 10 runs off the final over! Starc bowled the final over in the previous match as well and conceded just 8 runs when RR needed 9. Buttler is off strike. Third man and fine leg in place...

Mitchell Starc [3.0-0-39-0] is back into the attack

18.6

Mukesh Kumar to Rahul Tewatia, 1 run, back of a length, cut away to deep point for just a single

Rahul Tewatia, left handed bat, comes to the crease

Some nervous faces in the GT camp. They need 11 runs off 7 deliveries...

18.5

Mukesh Kumar to Rutherford, out Caught by Mitchell Starc!! High full toss outside off, Rutherford goes too hard and loses his shape. Hits him high on the bat and it's a mishit. Starc comes in from long-off, slides to complete the catch. Rutherford waits as the umpires want to check if it's a fair delivery. 1m vs 0.7m - it's a fair delivery!. The 119-run partnership has been broken. This game isn't over yet! Rutherford c Mitchell Starc b Mukesh Kumar 43(34) [4s-1 6s-3]

Mukesh Kumar to Rutherford, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Umpire review!

18.4

Mukesh Kumar to Rutherford, no run, wide yorker - like Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled - Rutherford throws his bat and connects with thin air
