Profile
Amjad Ali is a left-handed wicket keeper-batsman from UAE, who also opens the innings. He made his debut against Bangladesh during the 2008 Asia Cup. Born in Lahore in 1979, Ali first featured for the Lahore Blues in the 2002 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He first represented UAE in the ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Namibia in January 2008.

Over the course of the last few months before the World Cup, Ali's performance has been a mixed bag of sorts. He has produced some great knocks from time to time and similarly, has failed to perform on certain occasions.

However, in the nine ODIs he has played for the UAE, Ali averages over 40 and has three fifties to his name as well. His strike-rate is also above 85, making him the perfect foil for the opener's role during the 2015 World Cup.
