Hailing from a remote village near Chaman in Balochistan, Nahida Khan is a compact right-handed opening bat. Despite being around the team for more than a decade, she has struggled to cement a place for herself in the team for long periods. The soft-spoken batter, the first from the war-ravaged border town, was one of the rare standout batting performers in Pakistan forgetful 2017 world cup campaign. Even as the team didn’t find her success, her personal achievements opened up opportunities for women to step out of their homes and play sports in the orthodox village.
