Amal Athulathmudali is a left-handed batsman, who also bowls right-arm medium pace. he made his first-class debut in 2008 for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club against Moors Sports Club. He was noticed in 2009 when he hammered 153 off just 127 balls against Colts. He has over 2500 first-class runs in 51 games as of now. He has also taken over 60 first-class wickets. Although Athulathmudali has been around in the domestic circuit for quite some time, he has struggled to find a place in national team because of his inconsistency.
