Profile
Nicknamed 'Boom', Puttick is one of those cricketers who couldn't scale heights at International level despite boasting of incredible numbers in domestic cricket.

An opening wicket-keeper batsman, he represented Proteas in the U-19 World Cup in 1999; Graeme Smith and Jacques Rudolph played alongside him. Soon after, he made his first-class debut for Western Province. Puttick scored his maiden century in the third game and piled up runs at will in the season which saw him getting picked for the South Africa A side in 2003.

Puttick was called up to the national side as a replacement for Herschelle Gibbs in the next year but it was only in 2005 he made his ODI debut against New Zealand. He bagged a duck and failed to cast an impression, thereby slipping off the selectors' radar. Undeterred, he went back to domestic cricket and has been one of the prolific run-scorers in the circuit till date. Currently, he is the skipper of Cobras in franchise cricket.
