Profile
Rashid Khan was an efficient fast bowler whose skill set mostly favored him in limited-overs cricket. His international career began due to fortune as Pakistan were suffering from a squad crisis due to a full blown player strike. With most of their primary players unavailable, the PCB roped in rookies and Rashid was among the list of players who got the opportunity. He grabbed the chances with both hands in his debut series and also shone with the bat, displaying the prowess to use the long handle rather effectively. It did seem that Rashid had done enough to be backed for the future but soon found himself dropped when the big stars returned to the national team. Rashid did get more ODI opportunities including the World Cup in 1983 before being dropped in 1985 across formats. He toiled in First-class cricket for almost another decade before hanging up his boots finally. After his playing days, Rashid got into coaching the U19 side and several other internal mentoring works in the domestic circuit of Pakistan.
