Robin Peterson: The guys enjoyed each other's company. The guys have friendships that will last long. Was well led by Rashid. Pretty easy to lead them. Everybody put in their best. The camaraderie. They put their energies into this.

Match officials get their medals.

Trent Boult is the Player of the Match: First of all the boys put up a great performance. We scratched to 180 and very satisfying to get the job done. Beautiful place to play. The tournament is well followed. It was nice to get on a wicket that had help for the bowlers. Players stood up at the right points this season.

Losses by 97 runs, 9 wickets and 6 wickets in your first three games could have broken the back of any team and the confidence as well. But not SEC. The champions of 2023 and 2024 came back in a thundering way. They lost two on the bounce again. But amidst the losses they stitched four wins and three wins on the trot. Only a champion team like SEC could have done that. The team was expertly led by Markram and they had an answer to every tough question that was asked of them. Even the final might have looked one-sided but SEC during their bowling innings almost ensured that this could have been a far more close game. The toss didn't go their way either. But still SEC have a template that every other SA unit would want to follow. Jansen with the ball, their skipper with the bat led the way. Hermann and Stubbs had their moments under the sun as well. Their bowling has variety and am sure it would only get more lethal with time.

Kagiso Rabada: I think I was extra focussed as it was a final. They had made three finals in a row. On their day, they can beat anyone. I felt 180 was above par. Everyone bowled well. Rashid and Linde did well in the middle overs. I love playing in SA. It is my favorite place to play. The fans are amazing. The performances have been thrilling.

Trent Boult: Very special. To get the opportunity to win all four (titles with MI franchise) was great. Haven't played much cricket in South Africa. Guys wanted to do it for each other. Cricket here has been great fun.

Dewald Brevis: I was excited for tonight. I had lot of things in my head. I am grateful it came off. We needed runs on the board. We are so stoked. The last season I won't forget. It was tough. I wanted to focus on few things and give it my best.

Corbin Bosch: Over the moon. Unbelieve cricket this season. We were exceptional this entire campaign. (His role) Obviously to bowl nice and quickly and death bowling as well. I'm proud to be part of such a great franchise and help them put another one on the board.

Rassie van der Dussen: Batting first we knew there would be something in the wicket. But we knew if we could get off to a good start we would do well. We have been getting starts and luckily we did it one more time. Last two years we have been bouncing off each other (On his partnership with Rickleton). We were confident coming into this game. If you are three down in the powerplay you could lose the game so we wanted to take care of that. What a place to play the final.

Ryan Rickleton: Incredible tournament, to come last first two years and then win now is amazing. It (Wanderers) was an incredible place to play. Effort behind the scene is amazing, everyone stepped up. (We are going to celebrate) until this time tomorrow (smiles).

Rashid Khan: It feels amazing. Unbelievable (to win) after two years at the bottom of the team. This time topping the table and finishing like this is amazing. It was a team effort. (What was said when he was dismissed) Something not too good to be told here. It pumped me up as well. That was needed. With that chat in the middle my energy was different and happy to have won the game.

Mumbai Indians, MI New York, MI Emirates and now MI Cape Town have added to the trophy tally of the MI family. What a proud sporting franchise they are!

Take your mind back to Jan 9, 2025. MICT beat SEC by 97 runs. They had won all together 6 games across two editions but then started this season with a masisve win against the defending champions. The team looked buoyed under Rashid. The skipper also spoke about how this is a balanced unit and how they want to perform as a unit to bury the ghosts of the past. But then JSK beat them in a rain marred game and the murmurs of them having fluked that win started floating around. MICT were too hot to handle after that. They lost only once after that and the winning juggernaut just mauled down every other team. It was the 'R' factor at the top. Rassie and Rickelton scored runs at the top. And that propelled their chances every time. The meteoric rise of Brevis in the middle also fortified their stocks further. The experience of Rabada, Boult, Rashid and Linde with the ball also added meat to the MICT campaign and they grew in strength with every passing game.

21:20 Local Time, 19:20 GMT, 00:50 IST: The MICT camp is chuffed to bits. The owners had the IPL, the ILT20 and now the SA20 as well. They were wooden spooners in the last two editions. But what a fairytale finish! This is their sixth win on the bounce. And rightly so they are the champions of this edition . They were by far the better team in this edition and have become champions. They had worked really hard coming into this season. Their top-order clicked, their bowling clicked and the end result is here. A finale is all about handling the nerves. MICT have done it far better. If any team who could have challenged MICT today, it had to be SEC. They had won the two previous editions but fell short by a massive margin today. Boult, Rabada, Linde, Rashid et all were just too hot to handle. Rabada finished with a four-fer. Boult and Linde together were almost impossible to get away as well.

Rabada to Richard Gleeson, out Caught by Reeza Hendricks!! MICT have won! They are winners of the SA20 2025. That was a back of a length delivery bowled at 125 kph. Richard Gleeson looked to heave it and sliced it down to cover. MICT have won this by 76 runs. Rabada finishes with a four wicket haul. SEC could have made it a hat-trick of championships but not to be. The same franchise owners had suffered a massive loss in the IPL finale in 2024 and once again their SA franchise here have suffered a huge defeat. Richard Gleeson c Reeza Hendricks b Rabada 1(6)
