Year 2016 was Sisanda Magala's breakthrough year. He not only topped the charts in the African T20 cup by picking up 12 wickets in the tourney but also cleared the air about him not being only a white ball specialist. He ended the first-class season for Warriors by picking up 20 wickets from 8 games.

His exploits were identified and Nelson Mandela Bay Stars had picked him for the defunct T20 league that was supposed to take place in 2017. But Magala kept the good work on and despite a bargain of only 10 wickets from 5 games for Warriors in the next season, he did not lose heart.

Indeed when he travelled to Australia with the South African 'A' unit in 2016, it was a high that was difficult to match but since then he has been a part of few 'A' teams meaning he has been consistently on the fringes as far as white ball cricket is concerned.

For Someone who bowls a heavy ball, he is an ardent fan of Brett Lee.
