Harmanpreet Kaur | Player of the Match and Mumbai captain: Definitely. It was a great team effort. Congrats to Delhi for the way they played in this tournament, it was not easy for us. When you win you feel happy, the way we played today, we fought till the last ball. We didn't start the way we wanted but it's all about being there, doing the right things again and again and that's what we were thinking and trying. To be honest it wasn't easy when I went to bat. I had that belief if I stayed there and keep rotating the strike, when Nat is there, I don't need to take too much pressure because she has been in great touch and she was doing the job for the team. I just wanted to support her at that time. That partnership with Nat was amazing. We tried to keep things simple and easy, we took calculated risks at that time and that helped us in the partnership. 150 was not a decent total for DC but pressure games it always looks like 180 and credit goes to our bowlers - they had that belief they can give us breakthroughs in the powerplay. Good to see Ismail bring that important wicket for us and at the other end how Nat bowled. They created that opportunity for us, they got us the game and really happy the way everybody in the team bowled today. We had very good meetings, one-to-one meetings, try to clear their roles for the team. We knew we have 4 experienced bowlers who can do the job for them but it's a T20 - 4 overs are always important and we knew that, whoever is in the game that day, will try to give them that opportunity to do their job for us. Today Saika was there, she did a great job for us, she bowled those crucial 3 overs, before that Amanjot was there and in between Sanskriti did a really good job for us. They knew their role, they knew whenever they were there, they had to deliver in the best way and I'm really happy and I enjoy a lot playing with them. It means a lot, first season we tried to do everything right, this season also when we met, we discussed how things did not go well in the last season, we tried to keep things very simple for us. We did not want to try too many things and as a team we did that. We got great support from our support staff and all the team members. Really happy the way we played this tournament.
The turn of the winning team to receive their medallions. Amount of INR 6 crore given to Harmanpreet Kaur. Also limited-edition watches to all members of the team.
Meg Lanning | Delhi captain: We have had another good season but unfortunately we couldn't quite get over the line again tonight. Full credit to Mumbai, congratulations - you have been excellent throughout the whole season and thoroughly deserve your win, so well done. Disappointing for us, we didn't quite get it together with the bat. I thought chasing 150 was a pretty good target for us, one more partnership for a couple of overs might have given us a chance but very proud of the group. We put in a good season, had some really good moments but yeah we are all pretty disappointed. (if they had too much rest before the final) I am not sure, some people say Mumbai might be tired, you can't win these days. I don't think there's any right or wrong way to do it, it's about performing well on the night and Mumbai were too good for us tonight. We haven't been able to put our best performances on the board in the final which is disappointing but that's cricket. No fault of anyone's, we came in here as prepped as we could be to do as well as we could. It has just not happened for us. It has been different each time around. We are bitterly disappointed, we feel like put ourselves into a good position to win but that's the game, you win some, you lose some and unfortunately we have been on the wrong side.
Next up is the runners-up medals to the Delhi team. Amount of INR 3 crore and a shield to Meg Lanning who collects. Also limited-edition watches to all members of the team.
Now the match officials receive their medallions.
Nat Sciver-Brunt | MVP of the season: So pleased. Been a great year for me in the WPL and coming on the back of a lot of cricket and so happy to be standing here as a winner. I will ride the highs whilst I can and there are some lows around the corner as well but that's cricket isn't it. We have a great amount of allrounders in our team and some world-class players in our team who can stand up at any point of time. Very lucky to be part of that team. It's so special to be part of a franchise that has become family. It has been pretty amazing and we are really really happy.
