That's all we have from this first ODI. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla on behalf of Praveen Kumar, Pradeep Krishnamurthy and Kumar Abhisekh Das.

Bracewell | NZ captain: It was a great game of ODI cricket. Lots of ebbs and flows. Having to absord pressure and apply it later on. You can apply some of those T20 skills that the young players are learning quickly. ODI cricket is alive I guess. That's how I drew it up (the move to bowl out his strike bowlers earlier in search of wickets). You just try and use your resources as best you can. Fortunately it paid off today. If they went wicketless, we probably were looking for a few overs somewhere. That's the game of cricket. You roll the dice a little bit and lucky for me it came off today. It's a great sign for domestic cricket in New Zealand that guys are coming in and stepping up straightaway (talking about Abbas). Outstanding to see. That was on the back of a massive partnership from Chapman and Daryl which was outstanding. To be three down early and then the way those guys showed the fight to get through that tough period, targetted the fifth bowler from Pakistan, it was outstanding. Great way to show that it can't just be your way all the time. And same with the ball. To just stay in the game and keep fighting - that New Zealand spirit is what we're all about.

Rizwan | Pakistan captain: We started with good intent with the bat. But at the end, pressure got built. When you're closer to the target, there's more pressure. 3-4 overs changed the momentum. Pitch was difficult to bat earlier in the morning. Chapman played really well. We need to improve more. Have to take the benefit of the toss. We have some new guys in the middle order. It's a good challenge to play in these conditions.

Mark Chapman | Player of the Match: Was tricky early on (conditions), we probably aimed at something lower then this, but we then kicked on and got to a good total. It was really important (on the partnership with Daryl Mitchell), we just absorbed the pressure and then got into a position to put the pressure back on them. We rode our luck, got a platform and set things up for debutant Abbas to put the icing on the cake, it was a solid innings from him. The new ball swung around, the conditions later got better and helped us later in the innings while batting). A little bit of a hamstring tweak (on his injury), it's not always great news, but hopefully some rest and I should be back for the next game.

19:07 Local Time, 06:07 GMT, 11:37 IST: Big collapse from Pakistan who were on track in the chase for most of it. From a solid position of 246/3 after 38 overs, they lost 7 wickets for just 22 runs to hand New Zealand a 1-0 lead in the series. Babar Azam and Salman Agha were going along superbly in their partnership for the fourth wicket but Babar was a bit unlucky to find the fielder with a well-timed pull shot and from there the innings just fell apart. Pakistan got the better of the conditions with the bat. They won a good toss and put New Zealand in when there was quite a bit of help for the pacers. The pitch settled down as the day went on and despite the fireworks from Mark Chapman and debutant Muhammad Abbas to take the hosts to 344, Pakistan seemed to have it under control. Only for them to blow the opportunity in a matter of a few overs.

44.1

Nathan Smith to Akif Javed, out Caught by William ORourke!! Game over! Full and straight, Javed slogs across the line but doesn't quite middle it. Goes high in the air and O'Rourke makes good ground at long-on before pouching it with both hands. Akif Javed c William ORourke b Nathan Smith 1(3)

Nathan Smith to Akif Javed, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

43.6

Jacob Duffy to Mohammad Ali, no run, good length on middle, defended forward

43.5

Jacob Duffy to Mohammad Ali, no run, good length ball outside off, shaping away, Ali looks to defend but gets nowhere close to it

Mohammad Ali, right handed bat, comes to the crease

43.4

Jacob Duffy to Salman Agha, out Caught by Michael Bracewell!! Superb catch diving forward! That should be the game for New Zealand as Salman departs. Full outside off, he looks to launch it down the ground but it's a total mishit. The ball dies on Bracewell at mid-off but he dives full stretch and gets his fingers under it. The third umpire has been called upon to double check but there's no issue at all. Salman Agha c Michael Bracewell b Jacob Duffy 58(48) [4s-5 6s-2]

Jacob Duffy to Salman Agha, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

43.3

Jacob Duffy to Akif Javed, 1 run, direct hit would've probably sent him packing. Back of a length on off, he goes for a pull but splices it in front of mid-off. Goes on the bounce to Bracewell who misses the stumps

43.2

Jacob Duffy to Akif Javed, no run, full delivery speared in around off, driven to cover

43.1

Jacob Duffy to Salman Agha, 1 run, sliced in the air and it falls between two fielders! Slower short ball, Salman makes room and slashes hard. He fails to get on top of the bounce though. Goes in the air and the fielders at point and deep point don't really charge for the catch as it bounces between though

Akif Javed, right handed bat, comes to the crease

42.6

Nathan Smith to Haris Rauf, out Caught by Nicholls!! Rauf gets bounced out and he's not the first Pakistan batter to fall victim to the short ball today! Banged in short, good height on it and he is in no control going for the pull. Miscues it in the air and Nicholls hangs on at midwicket. Haris Rauf c Nicholls b Nathan Smith 1(3)

Nathan Smith to Haris Rauf, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

42.5

Nathan Smith to Haris Rauf, no run, New Zealand review for caught behind! Short ball angled in on middle, Rauf makes room for an upper-cut but is beaten. Clear gap there between bat and ball, and the original decision stands

New Zealand review for caught behind!
