Profile
A solid left-handed batsman, Geoff Pullar, played 28 Tests for England, scoring 1974 runs at an impressive average close to 45. He was good at driving the ball through the off-side as much as flicking through the leg-side. Originally a middle-order batsman, Pullar was tested as an opener against India in 1959, and he responded well, making 75 at Headingley and following it up with 131 at Old Trafford.

His highest Test score of 175 came against South Africa at the Oval the next year. However, arthritis forced a premature end to his career.
