Profile
A free flowing opening batsman, Stuart Williams was handed his international debut after the twin departures of Gordan Greenidge and Desmond Haynes. Whilst his technique was susceptible against the moving ball in Tests, he often ignited flying starts for West Indies in coloured clothes. However, his consistency and conversion rates were not up to the mark. He has passed hundred only twice in international cricket in 107 innings (Test and ODIs combined).

In 2004 Williams had his finger amputated after suffering a fracture in a Carib Beer series game. He returned to First Class cricket the following year and rattled 339 runs at a sparkling average of 54.83, thus retiring from competitive cricket on a high.

However, given his talent, he could have made it big at the international arena too.
