Profile
Brother of the more famous Paul Strang who was arguably Zimbabwe's finest spinner, Bryan was a left-arm medium pacer known for his ability to hit a spot all day long. He wasn't great to watch as a bowler, because he neither had the pace nor the variations to bamboozle the batsmen. Instead, Bryan opted the conventional route of boring the batsmen to a wicket, which was even more effective in ODIs where he was extremely difficult to score off. His best Test performances all came at home, including a five-wicket haul against South Africa at Harare. Bryan's career-best international figures however were the 6-fer that he registered against Bangladesh on a dry Nairobi surface where he ran through the batting line-up. Bryan never shied away from speaking his heart out and his comments on Zimbabwe's turmoil during the 2003 World Cup effectively ended his career. Thereafter, he travelled around the world, playing a lot of club cricket.
