West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach will return to Surrey to feature in the first four County Championship fixtures of the upcoming season, the club confirmed. This will be Roach's fifth successive season with Surrey.

The 36-year-old has played a role in Surrey winning the County Championship in the last three seasons, picking up 93 wickets in total for the club. He will link up with the squad in Chelmsford ahead of the opening fixture against Essex, and will then be available to play against Hampshire, Sussex and Somerset as well.

Surrey's attack for the upcoming season was already bolstered by the signings of Matt Fisher from Yorkshire and New Zealand's Nathan Smith.

"I've enjoyed every moment of my time with Surrey over the last four years and I'm excited to join up with the team again," Roach said. "The Kia Oval is my second home and the environment led by Alec Stewart, Gareth Batty and Rory Burns is one of the best I've been a part of. I'm looking forward to contributing to more success for Surrey in whatever way that I can."
