Glasgow three-fer sets up series-sweeping win for West Indies
Jannillea Glasgow took 3 for 15 and scored an important 25 as West Indies completed a 3-0 sweep of the T20I series against Bangladesh at Basseterre. Glasgow's bowling effort kept Bangladesh down to 104, a score West Indies chased down with five wickets and nine balls to spare despite a stumble through the middle.
Bangladesh made a good start to the innings after being asked to bat first as Murshida Khatun struck three boundaries before falling to Glasgow. The seamer then also accounted for the opter opener, Dilara Akter, who played on after a breezy 16-ball 21. The scoring rate nosedived through the middle overs when the spinners came on and it was up to captain Nigar Sultana to build a substantial total. She scored 33 but ate up 43 balls in her quest to add heft to the scoreboard. Glasgow returned with another wicket at the death as Bangladesh crawled past the 100-run mark.
The chase wasn't as straightforward as the hosts might have hoped. Fahima and Sultana Khatun accounted for the openers before Glasgow hunkered down to score a patient 25. Even so, West Indies went through a phase where they lost three wickets for seven runs to slip to 61/5. Shabika Gajnabi (27* off 25) then stitched a patient stand with Zaida James (14*) to allay West Indies' fears and saw them over the line.
Brief scores:Bangladesh 104/8 in 20 overs (Nigar Sultana 33; Jannillea Glasgow 3-15) lost to West Indies 105/5 in 18.3 overs (Shabika Gajnabi 27*; Fahima Khatun 2-14) by five wickets.

West Indies wrap up series with big win
West Indies demolished Bangladesh by 106 runs in the second T20I to wrap up the three-match series in style. Everything went wrong for the visitors starting with the toss when they decided to put West Indies in. The home side was powered by opener Qiana Joseph's 63 off 36 balls - including nine fours and two sixes, and Deandra Dottin's 22-ball 49 - laced with three fours and five sixes.
Batters around these two chipped in as West Indies aced every phase. They scored 54/1 in the PowerPlay, 106/3 in the middle overs (7-15) and 40/3 at the death.
In contrast, Bangladesh failed to stamp their authority on any of the phases in the daunting chase, falling well short in the end. The start was woeful as Bangladesh were three down inside the PowerPlay and struggled to get partnerships going. They lost three wickets each in the middle and death overs as the West Indies trifecta of Hayley Matthews, Cherry Ann Fraser and Afy Fletcher picked two wickets apiece.
Brief scores: West Indies women 201/6 in 20 overs (Qiana Joseph 63, Deandra Dottin 49; Fahima Khatun 3-38, Rabeya Khan 2-26) beat Bangladesh Women 95/9 in 20 overs (Sharmin Akhter 22; Hayley Matthews 2-6, Cherry Ann Fraser 2-15, Afy Fletcher 2-21) by 106 runs

Dottin, Matthews power WI to big win in 1st T20I
Deandra Dottin smacked seven sixes on her way to a whirlwind 51* off just 22 balls to set up West Indies' comfortable eight-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first T20I in St. Kitts. Captain Hayley Matthews scored an unbeaten 60 off 54, adding a 72-run stand to secure the victory in chase.
Before Dottin laid into the Bangladesh bowlers, she bowled four overs for just 13 runs as Bangladesh finished with 144/3. Even that total was down to a solid 82-run stand between Sharmin Akhter (37 off 41) and Nigar Sultana, who hit five fours and two sixes on her way to a 40-ball 53. Bangladesh found a higher gear in the death, scoring 47 off the last five overs. But their total eventually proved to be insufficient.
Brief Scores: Bangladesh Women 144/3 in 20 overs (Nigar Sultana 53, Sharmin Akhter 37; Hayley Matthews 1-36) lost to West Indies Women 145/2 in 16.5 overs (Hayley Matthews 60*, Deandra Dottin 51*; Fahima Khatun 2-15) by 8 wickets

Bangladesh miss out on direct qualification to the World Cup
Bangladesh squandered an opportunity to seal direct qualification to the Women's ODI World Cup of 2025 after they were beaten soundly by the West Indies in the third and deciding one-dayer at Basseterre. Off spinner Karishma Ramharack took a second four-wicket haul of the series as Bangladesh were bowled out for 118. West Indies then chased that target down with eight wickets and 22.3 overs to spare to seal the series by a 2-1 margin.
The visitors, who opted to bat, lost their way after getting to 68/1 in the 20th over. Afy Fletcher had the solid Fargana Hoque LBW for 22. Three overs later, Hayley Matthews dismissed top-scorer Sharmin Akhter (37) and Bangladesh's innings unraveled with Ramharack running through the lower middle-order. Bangladesh lost 9 for 50 to collapse to an under-powered 118 with more than six overs to spare.
The hosts put any doubts of victory to bed with an assured 45-run opening stand before Matthews fell for 22. When Qiana Joseph was dismissed for 39, the target was under 50 runs. Deandra Dottin didn't muck around as she led a brutal onslaught on the opposition bowlers, slamming four fours and two sixes in her 19-ball 33* to see her side home.
Observing from afar, New Zealand were the big benefactors from the results as they avoided the qualifiers route to the World Cup. The White Ferns were assured the direct berth as they finished ahead of Bangladesh on the basis of registering more wins (nine to Bangladesh's eight) after both teams finished with 21 points in the 10-team tournament, which saw all teams play eight three-match series - four at home and four away. Australia, India, England, South Africa and Sri Lanka are the other teams to have ensured direct berths.
Bangladesh will be joined by the team that bested them on Friday, West Indies, as well as Pakistan, Ireland, Scotland and Thailand in the qualifiers with top-two teams achieving qualification to the eight-team marquee tournament in India later this year.
Brief scores: Bangladesh Women 118 in 43.5 overs (Sharmin Akhter 37; Karishma Ramharack 4-12) lost to West Indies Women 122/2 in 27.3 overs (Qiana Joseph 39, Deandra Dottin 33*) by eight wickets.

Bangladesh hit back to keep World Cup qualification hopes alive
A disciplined bowling effort has helped Bangladesh keep their World Cup direct qualification hopes alive with a comprehensive 60-run victory over hosts West Indies in a low-scoring second ODI at St. Kitts. The visitors folded for 184 in the penultimate over after being asked to bat first, but the bowlers combined to roll out West Indies for only 124 in reply, taking them to 21 points with one game - the third and final ODI of the series - still in hand to make it directly for the mega event later this year in India.
Skipper Nigar Sultana was the backbone of Bangladesh's batting, making a solid 68 off 120 deliveries to anchor the innings, but unfortunately couldn't find much support. Bangladesh's best partnership was of 51 between their captain and Sobhana Mostary (23 off 32) as Karishma Ramharack (4 for 33) and Aaliyah Alleyne (3 for 24) tied up the middle and lower order to share seven wickets between them.
On the contrary, West Indies could not even muster any significant partnerships at all with four of the five bowlers deployed picking up at least two wickets apiece. Nahida Akter was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 31while Shemaine Campbelle top-scored for the home team with just 28 coming off 43 deliveries. After a resounding win in the opening match of the series, West Indies could muster only 124 before being bowled out in 35 overs.
Brief scores:Bangladesh Women 184 in 48.5 overs (Nigar Sultana 68; Karishma Ramharack 4-33) beat West Indies Women 124 in 35 overs (Nahida Akter 3-31, Rabeya Khan 2-19) by 60 runs.

Hayley Mathews' ton helps WI wallop Bangladesh
The first ODI turned out to be a lopsided contest as West Indies outplayed Bangladesh completely. After being put in to bat, Bangladesh got off to a decent start initially, with Sharmin Akhter and Murshida Khatun getting off to starts and setting up a good base. However, the innings fell apart after both batters were dismissed by the opposition's skipper, Hayley Matthews. From 115/2, Bangladesh slipped up and could muster up only 198 in their fifty overs. Matthews proceeded to make a mockery of the target as West Indies chased it down in under 32 overs. Matthews hit sixteen fours in her unbeaten knock of 104 while her opening partner Qiana Joseph was more explosive hitting four sixes in her knock of 70. With that West Indies took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Brief Scores: Bangladesh Women 198/9 (Sharmin Akhter 42, Murshida Khatun 40; Deandra Dottin 3-40) lost to West Indies Women 202/1 (Hayley Matthews 104*, Qiana Joseph 70) by 9 wickets
