Australia vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 1

Joe Burns scored a dominant hundred on the first day of the second and final Test cricket match between Australia and Sri Lanka at the Manuka Oval.

Burns and Travis Head put on 308 runs for the fourth wicket.

Head scored his maiden Test hundred.

Debutant Chamika Karunaratne struck in his first over in Test cricket.

Manuka Oval in Canberra also made its Test debut.

Sri Lanka were found wanting in the field when wickets were hard to come by on a flat pitch.

Burns ended the day on 172 not out, his highest Test score.

Sri Lanka were all over Australia with the new ball, picking three wickets to leave the hosts reeling at 28 for 3 in the first hour of play.
