That brings an end to our live coverage of tonight's encounter folks. There were a couple of one-sided games in the Indian Premier League earlier today, and this PSL encounter has turned out to be a one-sided clash as well. We'll be back tomorrow with some more PSL and IPL coverage. Goodbye and good night!
Shadab Khan | Player of the Match: We had picked our squad according to the conditions. The pitch didn't behave as per our liking. It didn't seam much, but we assessed it pretty well. Our openers gave us a good start in the powerplay, made it difficult for the opposition. Playing across the line wasn't easy on this wicket as the ball was keeping low. Our batters played well according to me. We need to improve our energy on the field. We have been playing good cricket, so we don't need to change much. The squad is ready, any player can get a chance in the upcoming games.
David Warner: Was always going to be difficult, losing the toss doesn’t help. Need to try and get into positions where we can get a good score. It was a bit up and down, we were probably 20 short of a competitive score. Can’t fault our bowlers, they tried hard. We play on the same wicket (tomorrow) so we know how it's going to play, need to assess how we go with the bat. Need to work out how we’re going to hit boundaries and how we’re going to go in the first six. (On his catch) It went up and I did what I know, ran back and kept my eyes on it, it was a fluke at the end of the day. His (Hasan Ali) experience is great, he spearheads our attack, great to have his class and caliber. He’s great, hopefully he can continue that and has more success. We were told having five games here was an advantage but you can see now that it isn’t. Dew has been inconsistent, it's hard to tell what happens here. For us, it's about playing good cricket. We just need to play our best game. Need to focus on our powerplay batting and partnerships.
23:15 Local Time, 18:15 GMT, 23:45 IST: Islamabad United register their fourth consecutive win of this season and stay at the top of the points table. They have shown remarkable consistency to start off their campaign. Earlier in the evening, it was a clinical effort by their bowlers to restrict Karachi Kings to an ordinary total. Naseem Shah, Jason Holder and Shadab Khan picked a couple of wickets each as the Karachi Kings finished with 128/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, Sahibzada Farhan got them off to a brisk start as he played a cameo of 30(18) to set the tone during the run chase. Azam Khan and Shadab Khan then had a partnership for the third wicket as they added 65 runs to put Islamabad United in further control. Azam Khan was dismissed by Nabi in the 14th over, while Shadab Khan was dismissed by Abbas Afridi when they needed only 1 run. Nawaz hit the run and took them home.
